TSC 97 RED ADVANCES TO SEMI-FINALS OF SAM SHANNON CUP
TULSA, OKLA. -- The TSC 97 Red Girls played up in the U12 Division of the Sam Shannon Cup and Showcase November 17 & 18, 2007 and advanced to the Semi-Finals.
The girls held their own against older, larger competition and forced the 96 Tulsa Thunder Black squad to overtime in the Semi-Final match before finally giving up the deciding goals to lose 2-4. 97 Red actually led the game 2-1 before a highly suspect field judge ruling retroactively granted a penalty kick late in the game giving Thunder their opportunity to even the score and extend the game to OT play.
In the opener of round play, TSC 97 Red lost in the final minutes of the game to 97 Solar Blue but matched up very evenly against this top ranked Texas squad.
In their second contest, TSC 97 Red played tough and strong to tie the 96 KC Outlaws Black team 1-1, losing hold of the win late in the game due to an untimely penalty foul call in the box.
TSC 97 Red was able to clinch their bracket by defeating 96 Tulsa National's 1-0 in the third game. |
